Description of the project:

The Design and Build of Kira – Matugga Road and Improvement of 5 no. Junctions (21kms) will be undertaken as a Design & Build Contract with an overall Contract Period not exceeding 1095 calendar days. The Works will include all field works, detailed engineering design, and construction of 21 km of road.

The project comprises the following components

(a) The Kira – Kasangati – Matugga 16km;
(b) Kira – Kyaliwajjala link 2Km;
(c) The Najjera – Buwate Spur 5Km and;
(d) Junction improvements for 5 No junctions;
(e) On and off ramps at Najjera over the bridge
(f) Half Diamond Interchange at Namugongo over the bridge;
(g) 2 No pedestrians over bridges
(h) Kyaliwajjala underpass;
(i) Junctions at Kyaliwajjala, Kira, Kasangati, and Matugga will be signalised.

Mlimani Associates did hydrology and hydraulics design of the drainage structures, side drains, and cut-off drains.
